This service allows you to obtain an official government document that confirms the business name for your business. The business name is used in contracts and other official documents and instances. You can reserve the business name before or after receiving your initial approval.

Service Steps
Online via Invest in Dubai (IID) portal:
To book a business name separately:
Visit Invest in Dubai portal.
Sign in to the system or create an account if you don’t have one.
In your dashboard, select New Trade Name.
Select your business activity.
Find and select your preferred business name.
Pay the required fees.
Finish booking your business name.
To book a business name as part of a new trade license application:
Visit Invest in Dubai portal.
Sign in to the system or create an account if you don’t have one.
Select “Start a Business” to begin the process.
Complete the steps.
Pay the required fees.
Finish booking the business name.
Note: IID account must be verified.
In person via an authorized service center:
Visit one of the authorized service centers.
Provide the required document.
Pay the required fees.
Reserve the business name.

The total cost of issuing the business name is AED 620.
Service Completion Time
The business name is reserved instantly once the fees are paid.
Validity
The reservation of the business name is valid for a duration of six (6) months.
Terms and Conditions
The business name must comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the Emirate of Dubai.
The business name must align with prevailing societal norms and cultural norms, refraining from indecent language and ensuring it does not offend societal sensibilities, even if it includes a personal name.
The business name must represent the truth and must not be misleading.
The business name must not contain the words "Allah", "Lord," nor any names associated with Almighty Allah, such as Al-Qadir, Al-Alim, Al-Razzaq, etc.
The business name must not include any names of governments unless specifically authorized by the respective country's embassy.
The business name must not suggest any affiliation with international political organizations, religious sects, or sectarian affiliations, for example, names like FBI, Mafia, etc.
The business name must be unique and not previously registered for the same or similar business activities.
The business name may include the first and the last name of the partner or owner but not solely the family name. For example, reserving the business name 'Al Shamsi Properties' is prohibited, whereas 'Ahmed Al Shamsi Properties' is considered acceptable.
The business name must be presented in both Arabic and English languages. Translation of business names is not permitted; rather, it shall be transliterated, ensuring adherence to the terms and conditions of the business name. For example, "الصقر للعقارات" should be transliterated as "Al Saqer Properties" in English.
When reserving the business name, it is mandatory to specify the business activity and legal form to prevent duplication. For example, reserving the business name 'XYZ' solely for a contracting license is not permissible; instead, the business activity must be explicitly stated, such as 'XYZ Contracting LLC.'
The business name must not include any symbols like dots or spacers (., /), or any similar characters.
Business names starting with phrases such as 'Universal,' 'Middle East,' or 'International,' or their Arabic translations, are not allowed.
The business name must not be identical or similar to any registered local or international trademark with the Ministry of Economy, such as Emaar, Kentucky, etc.
Trademarks are registered by the Trademarks Section within the Ministry of Economy.
When using the trademark, the business name must be mentioned if they differ.
The company is permitted to use the business name of a franchise provider, upon submission of the franchise contract to the Department of Economy and Tourism.
The business name reservation fees must be settled within 72 hours from the date of issuance of the payment voucher.
The reservation of the business name is valid for a duration of 6 months. Upon expiration, the customer shall renew the reservation and settle any associated fees.
If the customer fails to obtain the trade license, the business name will be automatically cancelled upon the expiration of the reservation period.
An additional fee ranging from AED 1,000 to AED 3,000 will apply for the reservation of premium business names.
The Department of Economy and Tourism reserves the right to charge premium business name outstanding fees for previous years.
The Department of Economy and Tourism reserves the right to cancel or modify the business name if it resembles an existing business name or if it does not adhere to the applicable terms and conditions.
